INSTRUCTIONS
PROGRESSION
Week 2
I joined this class in the second week because I just swapped this module with
another module. So I didn't get a briefing in week 1. I asked my friend what
we should do. So what I understand is that we have to come up with the idea of
an artwork with 3 themes that have been determined by HONOR, namely:

Cultural Prosperity · Celebration: A Totem of Renewing Festive
Culture
Create with important traditional cultural elements of various countries, such as Lunar New Year, Mid-Autumn Festival, Dragon Boat Festival, Christmas, Mother's Day, Day of the Dead, Halloween and Eid al-Fitr. -
Renewal of life · Return: Contemplate human beings' relationship
with all things.
With sustainable development as the starting point, your creations must incorporate the concepts of environmental protection, biodiversity, energy conservation and emissions reduction within the design details. -
Genesis · The Future: Imagine the Innovative World of the
Future
The world of the future will be constructed with the power of technology and art, using creativity and imagination.
I decided to choose the second theme, with a mooncake festival or
mid-autumn festival.
I also did a little research about the festival.

Week 3-5
I started my very first sketch in week three and so on until weeks 4 and 5. In week 3, I only sketch the main component

In week 4, I added the details for the sketch
In week 5, I added the color and used Adobe Illustrator
and create the animation planning and the week 6 planning.
Week 6-7
By week 6 and 7, I created the animation using Adobe
After Effects. I decided to create a very subtle
animation.
Final Results
REFLECTIONS
For this project, I felt so excited to join a design competition while having it as my module. Initially, I was confused with the theme as I felt that they were too complicated, but then I tried to choose the second theme which is about celebration. I decided to go with the mid-autumn festival. I was excited to use Procreate for the first time. During the preparation for the competition, I tried to follow my timeline by making progress each week. I felt relieved because by following the timeline, the work was manageable. During the submission, there were some problems. The website couldn’t accept my design because the file was too large. I tried to minimize the file resolution but nothing worked. Finally, I tried to change the DPI, and it finally worked. I felt relieved as I pressed the submit button.
When the day of the announcement for the winner came, I expected myself not to win but if I win, I considered myself lucky. Turns out, the winner already knew that they win, so I was nervous for nothing. But in the end I still be thankful that I joined the competition as it can help increase my experience.
