Week 5
I got a character design part. The main character of our game is a cat. I thought of drawing a chonky cat to make the game look adorable. This is my initial sketch.


Luisa's initial sketch is more towards a skinny and funny-looking cat. 


So Luisa decided to combine our sketches and it turned out like this

Week 6
This week, I refined the lines from the sketch and added the color for the cat breeds. I made 10 different breeds.

By week 7, I tried to sketch out the character design customization. The hats, set of clothing, and accessories. Here are the results.

Week 8
This week, I tried to help with the environment design by drawing the sea creatures. I tried to fill out the color using our color palette.

This week, I tried to refine the sketch for the sea creatures using Adobe Illustrator. After that, I exported the SVG file and uploaded it to Google Drive so that Devina could work on the animation. I added a small glowing effects on the sea creatures.

Week 10 - Week 14
For most of these weeks, I just tried to use Adobe Illustrator to finish up the sketch like the clown, the balloon, and the cat in ghost mode. Then I also tried to apply some colors one by one and see if they matched the color scheme for our games or not.

REFLECTION

I was super excited to work on this project. Especially when most of my team mates love cats HAHAHA. I got so many ideas about this project. Doing character design was not my thing, but then when I tried it for this module, it was very interesting. My love towards cat has become bigger than before. The cuteness from our idea for our game is on another level I believe. We made something different from the other where we were able to eliminate the idea of killing and change it to something that is suitable for children. This project has made me think wider and differently. I learned how important art direction for a game. I also find that matching a different art style from each other is a big challenge, but I found it still manageable as long as we want to communicate and accept each other feedback. I also believe that a leader is important, one thing that I feel like missing from our group is we did not really have a clear work load. The role was decided but then everything just kind of mixing but it was still okay, I just considered this as a learning experience so that in the future, I can learn from this kind of challenge.
