Project 2 : Interactive AR Application

INSTRUCTIONS

TASK

We were asked to do this second project to develop an AR application for an online store. For example, an AR application for glasses, hats, or cosmetic shops. Customers of the shop will use the AR application to try different options before making their purchases. We are welcome to propose new AR application ideas as well but must obtain approval from our lecturer.

First of all, I created my assets using Adobe Illustrator. I'm thinking of making 3 variants of the filter.

Then, I started working on blush, lipstick and face tattoo effects using Adobe Photoshop

Once all the assets have been created, I start working on the filter using Spark AR. Mr. Razif provided us with tutorials from Youtube and most of the rest I looked for and taught myself from Youtube. On Youtube there are various kinds of tutorials on how to make IG filters. Since I felt that face tattoos weren't enough, I did some exploring in the Spark Library and imported the 3D glasses file. Then I started working on a patch editor where I could create variants of filters and insert glasses.

And below is a preview of my filter.

REFLECTIONS

The second project was interesting. This is my first time trying to make an Instagram filter. So far I've only used it on Instagram but finally, I learned how to make one. At first, I was confused about how I should do it, but the tutorial from Youtube was very helpful. I was confused with the blush and lipstick that I made. Because at first it looked really thick and unrealistic but after trying a few times I finally found the right opacity and it looks better. At first, I just wanted to use a face tattoo for this filter, but this filter looks less attractive. So I added glasses in the 2nd and 3rd variants.
