TASK
Instructions
Final Project – Playable Game – 30 %
Students will integrate their art asset to their game development and produce a fully functional and playable game.
E-Portfolio - 10 %
Students describe and reflect on their social competencies within the design studio context, supported by evidence. Reflect on how to empathize with others within group settings, interact positively within a team and foster stable and harmonious relationships for productive teamwork. The reflective writing is part of the TGCP.
Progression
For the final project, I continue what I've been working on the prototype. The things I added from my prototype were:
- The character ability to move forward and backward (changing side)
- Assets for level 3 (Background, Platform, Enemy)
- Hidden place to collect heart power ups (to add up the character hp)
The place will be revealed if the player hits the door with the green gem - Enemy for level 2
Because on the prototype, I haven't add the final boss. The boss will dropped a key when defeated. - Enemy movement (following the main character)
So when the character reach the minimum distance, the enemy will follow the character with a certain speed. We can set it by setting it public. - Enemy hit box when hitting character (will lose the HP)
Initially, this is for the spike on level 2, so when the character collides with it, the character will lose an hp. But then I applied this to the enemy as well. - Health Bar
So I followed Sir Razif's tutorial on how to make the health bar. So for the heart and the box, I drew it myself and for the bar, I use an image with a white box in it so that I can change the color. Then I set everything following Sir Razif's tutorial so that the bar will be at fill amount state.
This is the script - Bubble text for in-game tutorial
- UI for starting screen (title, background, button)
- Cutscene (background about the main character)
- Ending screen (text)
- Sound effect (button clicked, jumping, shooting bullet, collecting key)
- Background music for each scene (starting page, each level page, ending page)
So I make a script so that I can input the audio source for each scene. - The rest of each character animation
